How to measure land area on a map

In the AroundArea iPhone app, mark a field, garden or plot on the map to estimate its area.

1. Find the location. Open Map Measurement and search for the address or move the map to your plot.
2. Mark the boundary. Place points around the edge, following changes in direction rather than cutting across corners.
3. Review the outline. Adjust the points and check that the polygon follows the area you intend to measure.
4. Read and save. View the area and perimeter, select your units and save the measurement with a useful name.
